I just figured out what the problem with recaptcha is: If you request a lot of captchas from a single IP in a short time period, recaptcha is going to be almost unreadable.
To avoid this, use a proxy like Tor and configure it to switch your identity very often
So, it seems like recaptcha has normalized again and I could fix all the remaining issues with .net. I can finally polish everything and get RC1 out very soon So far people are very satisfied with the speed and features the new version has.

After trying and reading two days, i found out that the whole problem can be easily fixed by setting the KeepAlive property to false – and things were improving even more when i switched the targetframework to .net 3.5 (this was on xp)
Have you recently tried to type in a recaptcha? It seems that Google has changed something on the Image algorithm which makes it almost impossible to read.
